THE MISSION OF MUSIC LINK is to seek out promising music
students who may be unable to afford music lessons and provide ongoing
music instruction to develop their potential talent. HOW DOES IT WORK?
Students are identified and nominated by school teachers or personnel
of community youth programs and are then linked with a music teacher
who volunteers to teach this student on partial or full scholarship,
depending on the need of the student. The parent, or school targeting
students who qualify for the free or reduced school lunch program,
determines financial need. The MusicLink Foundation does not pay teachers to teach, but offers support to MusicLink teachers and students by: 1. helping arrange links between teachers and students 2. offering grass roots grants for music teachers. 3.
providing summer music camp scholarships for students.4. issuing an ID
card to quality MusicLink teachers for offers from Business Partners
such as *free or discounted music *Electronic keyboards or acoustic
pianos placed in the homes of MusicLink students *Loans of instruments
*Free rental space for meetings or recitals *Opportunities for
scholarships If you are already teaching a student on
scholarship, you can become a MusicLink teacher today and begin taking
advantage of the benefits available for your student! For more information visit the MusicLink website at www.musiclinkfoundation.org or contact Sue Wege at 651.458.0143 or swege71@comcast.net.
